Tuttavia proprio per questo la Nato persegue la strategia esattamente opposta: ha bisogno di sangue, vuole il maggior numero possibile di morti da tutte le parti per ricavarne il massimo capitale possibile e compensare la sua impotenza ad intervenire sul campo. Questo significa che la guerra deve durare il più a lungo possibile e consegnare il maggior numero di morti, feriti e mutilati in modo da premere costantemente i pulsanti emotivi e impedire alla gente di pensare e di utilizzare le già scarsissime capacità analitiche che ormai da decenni non vengono più a stimolare e anzi sono viste con sospetto in un mondo dove il politicamente corretto e le frasi fatte che accompagnano questo breviario debbono essere recitate senza alcun intervento disturbante del cervello.
Questo tuttavia pone un problema che finora è rimasto completamente sullo sfondo e ignorato, ma che adesso balza in primo piano e si presenta davvero drammatico. Tale problema si sintetizza in poche domande: fino a che punto il governo ucraino è libero di condurre trattative di pace nell’interesse del proprio Paese e non in quello del suo tutore che vuole lacrime e sangue per portare avanti il suo disegno? Dove si trova Zelensky che secondo alcune voci sarebbe adesso dentro l’ambasciata americana in Polonia, dove si spera che ci sia un pianoforte per permettere l’esercizio quotidiano del personaggio? In queste condizioni può davvero essere credibile come negoziatore?
